Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) and Ludington Writers (LW) are excited to announce a FREE Ekphrastic Workshop on Saturday, Sept 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The workshop will be held in the art center’s main gallery before moving to the Book Mark for further discussion and sharing.

This workshop is part of our ongoing collaboration to inspire poetry through original art, promoting literacy and supporting LACA’s exhibits. Registration is not necessary, but the art will be available to preview at tinyurl.com/LACAModes.

The workshop will be co-hosted by Ludington Writers editors Linda Sandow and Nicole Birkett. Linda will be selecting four pieces for us to focus on.

Selected artwork will be labeled in the gallery and electronic copies will be available for virtual participants.

We’re also hosting a public reading and open mic on Tuesday, September 30, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Minty Room on the 2nd floor of the Arts Center. Attendees are invited to share their ekphrastic piece, followed by a general poetry reading. This event is also FREE and open to all.
